Taking a Digital Impression
With the help of an iTero element scanner, our team will then take a digital impression of your teeth, giving us a 3D model to work with. This way, we can see where your teeth, gums and teeth are established.

Capturing X-Rays
X-rays may also be taken during your consultation to provide a more thorough view of where your teeth are aligned and their development. They can capture what we cannot see with our eyes with safe amounts of radiation. We utilize panoramic and cephalometric x-rays, each showing us different perspectives and helping us determine the best placement for your future appliance to ensure efficient results.
If you have had a recent x-ray taken at your dentist within the past six months, we ask you to bring it with you. Otherwise, our treatment coordinator can happily take one for you if necessary.
Reviewing Health History
After completing the above tests and assessments, the final piece of the puzzle will be Dr. Buttram looking over your dental and medical history. This provides him with insight into any medications you may take, allergies, and how your body has reacted to past operations or procedures, each of which can affect the treatment he recommends you move forward with.
Sharing Your Treatment Plan
Once Dr. Buttram has finished reviewing all of your materials, he will share his expertise on your case and provide you with a treatment plan to move forward in your smile journey.
