For more than 30 years, Dr. J. Randal Buttram has provided exceptional orthodontic care for our Panama City community.

Whether it’s learning new orthodontic technologies or making sure our office runs smoothly in order to create the easiest treatment experience, Dr. Buttram cares for each patient as if they’re part of his own family.
He loves seeing young patients grow into confident adults, and being a part of the moment when an adult patient sees their new smile for the first time!
Dr. Buttram chose to pursue orthodontics because it gave him the opportunity to witness patients reach these transformative milestones in their lives.
Education
Dr. Buttram was born in Alabama, but grew up in Central Florida!
- Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in biology – Harding University in Arkansas
- Dr. Buttram went to Harding University on a football scholarship and graduated with honors!
- Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD) degree – University of Florida College of Dentistry
- Graduated with honors
- 1-year Hospital-Based Advanced General Dentistry Residency – University Hospital in Jacksonville
- Specialty Certificate in Orthodontics – University of Pennsylvania
Continuing Education
For over three decades, Dr. Buttram has been dedicated to staying up-to-date with the latest technologies and orthodontic knowledge.
He devotes more than 20 hours each year to continuing education, focusing on developing efficient orthodontic treatment and cosmetic options like Invisalign® and clear braces.
Outside of the Office
Dr. Buttram grew up in Central Florida before attending college in Arkansas, where he met his wife Angie. They’ve been married for 40 years and are delighted to live in Florida’s most beautiful community – Panama City.
Their two daughters and grandchildren give them plenty of reasons to travel. Their daughter Emily is a physician’s assistant and lives in Nashville, Tennessee, with husband Ray. Their daughter Ellie lives in Dallas, Texas, with her husband Hayden.
In his free time, Dr. Buttram flies planes, golfs, cycles, stand up paddleboards, reads and surfs. He is actively involved with his church, local youth sports program as a team sponsor, and the local dental society.
He loves spending time with his family and beautiful grandkids!
